How to Clean an LCD, LED, and OLED TV Screen
Power down the TV. Make sure your TV is off before getting any cloth or cleaners out. Cohoon advises unplugging the TV if you want to take extra precautions, but contemporary TVs usually don’t require it.
An essential part of the cleaning procedure is dry dusting your TV. Dry debris removal will prevent you from accidentally scratching the screen by pressing a hard piece of dirt or buildup into it, according to Cohoon. She advises lightly dusting the entire screen with a soft or microfiber cloth. To properly remove any dust, pet hair, and other loose debris, flip the towel over or acquire a second cloth, if necessary. The speakers and wires may be cleaned with a microfiber cloth as well.
Spray a little amount of screen-friendly cleaning solution onto a soft cloth rather than straight onto the TV screen, and then use the cloth to carefully wipe the TV back and forth. Make sure the cleaner is appropriate for the particular kind of screen you’re cleaning. To get rid of grease stains or fingerprint smudges, repeat as required. Don’t forget to carefully clean the TV’s base and top as well. Avoid applying excessive pressure to harder places, especially to more sensitive displays.
How to Clean the TV’s Remote Control
Experts advise using a disinfectant wipe to simply wipe away bacteria, germs, fingerprints, and any other residue from a remote to clean and sterilize it. To prevent getting liquid into the remote control, make sure the cleaning wipe is moist but not drenched. Since dirt can readily collect between the buttons, take your time cleaning there. It’s also a good idea to take the batteries out of the remote before cleaning the buttons, or you may relocate it to a different room. This will prevent accidental changes to the TV’s settings.
